Founding Product Engineer

Sitefire is building the marketing suite for the Agentic Web.

Marketing teams use Sitefire to understand how agents view their brand and take action to win more customers. Brands like BMW and DWS (from Deutsche Bank) are already using Sitefire.

We are hiring a Founding Product Engineer in Munich to own full product features end to end. You will work directly with the founders and customers, figure out what to build, ship it, and keep improving it until it creates real customer value.

This is a high-intensity, founder-style role for someone who wants ownership, speed, and direct exposure to customers. It is not a narrow frontend, backend, or platform role.

What excites us:

The market is moving from tracking AI visibility to operationalizing GEO, or generative engine optimization. Teams no longer just want to know whether they show up in ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity. They want to take action every day: create better content, build the right pages, earn the right mentions, and understand which work actually changes how AI systems talk about them.

We believe GEO becomes a full marketing discipline. Agents will make buying decisions, so companies need to market to humans and agents at the same time. Sitefire is building the data and agent layer that helps marketing teams do that.

What You Will Build

You will help build the next generation of Sitefire: agents and analytics for marketing teams.

Examples of work you may own:

  • Customer-facing agents that help marketing teams manage content, earn backlinks, and execute marketing workflows.

  • Agents that deeply understand Sitefire's analytics data so they optimize based on evidence.

  • Integrate Sitefire into customers' daily workflows so agents help them get real marketing work done.

  • Build quality systems around agentic workflows, including review flows, email systems, and customer-facing controls.

  • Build and grow our analytics layer on top of state-of-the art infrastructure (ClickHouse, Vercel, Supabase)

  • Work directly with the marketing teams at our customers to understand what to build and how.

  • Turn rough founder and customer input into simple, useful product surfaces.

The work spans product thinking, frontend, backend systems, LLM pipelines, data, and customer conversations. You should enjoy that range.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a builder who can own a feature without needing a full team around them. You should be strong at:

  • Shipping production SaaS features.

  • Owning full-stack product work from ambiguous problem to live product.

  • Building LLM or agent pipelines that are useful in production, not only impressive in demos.

  • Building frontend experiences with taste, clarity, and care.

  • Working on backend systems and data-heavy product flows.

  • Talking to customers and representing the company well.

  • Using AI tools heavily as part of your daily engineering workflow.

  • Moving fast without losing judgment.

High agency matters. We do not care about exact years of experience as much as evidence that you can build, decide, ship, and learn quickly.

Our Stack

Our product is built with TypeScript, React, Vite, Supabase, Vercel, and ClickHouse. We use LLMs and agentic workflows heavily in the product and in the way we work.

You DO NOT need to have used every tool in our stack before. You DO need to be able to learn quickly and make good technical decisions in a fast-moving product environment.

How We Work

We work in person in Munich. The office is near Munich Hauptbahnhof, air conditioned, and shared with other early-stage startups.

We are an early-stage team and work with founder-level intensity. That means short feedback loops, direct customer contact, fast shipping, and a lot of responsibility. A day of home office is possible when it makes sense, but this is not a remote or hybrid role.

We take team trips to San Francisco every six months.

Relocation to Munich and visa support can be discussed case by case for exceptional candidates.

Why Join

  1. You will be the first or second employee joining Sitefire. If you are the right person, you will roughly double how much product value we can ship as a company.

  2. You will work on a real customer problem with enterprise users, large datasets, and a product category that is changing quickly. You will build agents that are expected to do massively useful work for marketing teams, not just generate generic content.

  3. You will also be early in a market we care about deeply. We think the Agentic Web changes how companies are discovered, evaluated, and bought from. This is not just SEO with a new name. It is the start of a broader shift in how marketing teams operate.

  4. You will also get unusually strong access to the Munich, German, and YC startup ecosystems. The founding team has roots in CDTM, Manage&More, Schub, and YC. And we are backed by operators and angels including Roman Hölzl (RobCo), Basti Schuon (Stylight & Alasco), and Mike Wax (Forto).

Compensation

  • Base salary: EUR 85,000 to EUR 130,000

  • Equity-like upside: 0.6% to 1.2% through a VSOP/equity program currently being finalized

Final compensation depends on experience, ownership level, and fit for the role.

Benefits

  • MacBook Pro and the hardware setup you need

  • Paid AI tooling: all the plans and subscriptions you need to be maximally productive

  • Office near Munich Hauptbahnhof

  • Wellpass

  • Team trips to San Francisco (or similar) every six months

  • Direct customer exposure and founder-level ownership

This Is Probably Not For You If

  • You want a narrow backend-only or frontend-only role.

  • You do not want to talk to customers.

  • You want a remote-first role.

  • You need a large team and detailed specs before you can ship.

  • You are not already using AI heavily to get better and faster at your work.

  • You prefer slow planning cycles over building, testing, and learning from real users.

How To Apply

Please include something you have shipped. This can be a product, feature, startup, open-source project, technical write-up, demo, or anything else that shows how you build.

We will also ask:

  • What did you personally own in that project?

  • How do you use AI in your daily engineering workflow?

  • Are you able to work onsite in Munich?

  • What makes this role interesting to you right now?

Hiring Process

1. Quick chat with Jochen, our CEO and co-founder, about expectations and startup fit.

2. 45 minute conversation with Vincent, our CTO, where you bring a project you have built and walk through what you shipped, how you built it, and what decisions you made.

3. 45 minute product and system design case with Vincent.

4. Live coding interview where you build something with AI and we look at how you work.

5. Optional work trial or final working session, depending on candidate fit and remaining open questions.
