Senior Deployment Strategist (Engagement Manager)

Full Time - Hybrid / RemoteSan Francisco (USA), Toronto (CA)

About Katalyze AI

Katalyze AI is a fast-growing AI-driven biotech platform company on a mission to make life-saving drugs accessible and affordable for everyone. Our AI Agents help pharmaceutical and biotech companies increase production efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste. We're a team of humble, fast-moving, and curious craftspeople working at the intersection of science and AI.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Deployment Strategist (the equivalent of an Engagement Manager at firms like Palantir) to lead how our platform gets deployed and adopted within our most strategic pharma and biotech clients. This is not a traditional account management or sales role — it's a mission-critical position that sits at the intersection of strategic consulting, technical implementation, and enterprise relationship management.

You'll own the full arc of client engagements: from discovery and solution design to hands-on deployment and long-term value expansion. You'll be embedded deeply with clients — understanding their manufacturing challenges, shaping how Katalyze AI's capabilities are applied, and driving transformational outcomes. When a client achieves a yield uplift or eliminates a batch failure, that's your work made real.

This role is ideal for someone who has thrived in a deployment, implementation, or engagement management role at a tech-forward company or top-tier consultancy, and who wants to work at the frontier of AI in life sciences.

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end client engagements — from initial discovery and scoping through deployment, adoption, and expansion

  • Develop deployment strategies tailored to each client's manufacturing environment, data landscape, and regulatory context

  • Act as the primary strategic point of contact for senior client stakeholders, including Operations, Quality, and C-suite leaders

  • Translate complex client problems into concrete use cases and platform configurations, in close partnership with our ML Scientists and Platform Engineers

  • Drive change management and user adoption to ensure our platform becomes embedded in clients' core workflows

  • Identify and develop expansion opportunities, building long-term roadmaps that grow both client impact and Katalyze AI's footprint

  • Track and communicate ROI — yield improvements, cost savings, deviation reductions — as a core part of every engagement

  • Partner with the commercial team to support new business development, leveraging deployment successes as proof points

  • Contribute to internal playbooks and best practices, helping scale how Katalyze AI runs world-class deployments

What We're Looking For

  • 4–8 years of experience in deployment strategy, implementation, management consulting, or a hybrid client-facing technical role

  • Demonstrated track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deployments or consulting engagements

  • Strong strategic thinking — you can zoom out to see the big picture and zoom in to drive execution

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; you can engage credibly with scientists, engineers, and executives alike

  • Comfort with ambiguity and fast-moving environments — you build structure where none exists

  • Technical literacy: you don't need to write code, but you understand data systems, APIs, and how software gets adopted inside large organizations

  • A genuine interest in life sciences, biopharma, or AI-driven transformation

Nice to Have

  • Experience in pharma, biotech, or life sciences environments (especially manufacturing or quality)

  • Familiarity with GxP frameworks, regulated manufacturing, or compliance-heavy industries

  • Prior experience at a company known for high-intensity deployments (Palantir, C3.ai, Veeva, McKinsey, BCG, Accenture, etc.)

  • MBA or advanced degree in science, engineering, or business

  • Experience with change management methodologies
