Procurement is the single largest cost lever in manufacturing: over 50% of a physical product's cost originates with suppliers. Yet the teams managing billions in spend still run on spreadsheets, fragmented tools, and tribal knowledge.
Delvo is building Cognitive Procurement: an AI-native intelligence layer that gives strategic procurement teams the decision power they've never had. Our agents analyze suppliers, benchmark prices against real-time cost indices, and generate tailored negotiation strategies, turning weeks of manual analysis into minutes of actionable insight.
We're founded by a McKinsey venture builder who shipped production AI systems as interim CTO, a procurement excellence lead from PwC who ran 500+ supplier negotiations for industrial manufacturers, and one of the very few people in the world who has a deep understanding of procure tech from his upbringing and the technical skills to build. We combine deep technical skill with the domain expertise to build something procurement teams actually trust and use.
If you want to shape how procurement works at scale, Delvo is where you can do the most important engineering work of your career.
We're looking for a Founding Engineer: an excellent software engineer who's equally comfortable building a polished UI and designing an LLM agent pipeline that works reliably in production.
You'll be one of the first engineering hires. That means you won't be picking up tickets. You'll be deciding what to build, architecting how it works, and shipping it to enterprise customers who rely on it daily. You'll sit next to the founders, talk to customers directly, and see your code change how procurement teams at major manufacturers make decisions.
This isn't a role where you wait for a spec. You'll prototype fast, learn from real usage, and iterate until the product is genuinely excellent. You care about craft, but you care about impact more.
If you're a strong engineer with product instinct, hands-on LLM experience, and the drive to build something that matters, we'd love to talk.
Translating signal into product. You'll work closely with real enterprise users, turning raw feedback and behavioral insights into product experiences that truly land. Your work shapes the interface between LLMs and procurement professionals who make million-euro decisions.
Make LLMs feel magical. Our most important features rely on complex agent pipelines: supplier analysis, cost benchmarking, negotiation strategy generation. Your job is to make these workflows feel simple, fast, and trustworthy to the user.
Iterate in the unknown. Getting to great outcomes takes fast prototyping, instinct, and persistent experimentation. There are no perfect solutions, just creative execution and tight feedback loops with real customers.
Own the experience. You'll ship full-stack features: UX, backend logic, prompt pipelines, data integrations. You'll have direct impact on how our most important customers experience the product every day.
Shape the engineering foundation. Every architectural decision, every tool choice, every pattern you establish will define how Delvo's engineering scales. Your standards become the team's standards.
We care about what you can do, not how many years you've been doing it. What matters is craft, velocity, and the instinct to build things that work for real users.
You should:
Be an excellent software engineer, with a track record of shipping production systems, whether at a company, on side projects, or in open source.
Have real, hands-on experience with LLMs beyond calling an API. You know how to prompt effectively, build retrieval pipelines, work with embeddings, and reason about the latency/cost/quality trade-offs that make AI products actually work in production.
Have sharp product instincts. You think about the user, not just the code. You can look at a feature and know whether it's going to land before you ship it.
Be high-agency and outcome-driven. You figure out what to build, not just how. You don't wait for permission. You move fast, communicate clearly, and take ownership of results.
Use AI tools as a natural part of how you work, and understand where they help and where they get in the way.
Bonus: any exposure to procurement, supply chain, ERP systems, or enterprise B2B software.
We value strong fundamentals and fast iteration over checkbox experience with specific tools. That said, here's what we work with today:
Stack: TypeScript/Next.js (hosted on Vercel), Python, Supabase/PostgreSQL, WorkOS for auth/SSO.
AI: Multi-LLM strategy across OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and Mistral. Langfuse for prompt management and observability. We build agentic workflows with real evaluation loops, not demo-ware.
Tooling: Git, GitHub Actions, Sentry, Vercel Analytics. We ship daily.
We're a small, fast team with large-enterprise customers and the intensity that comes with it. We work from CIC Berlin in Kreuzberg: direct collaboration, no unnecessary process.
Everyone on the team talks to customers. Everyone ships to production. The founders are technical and hands-on: Jonas (CTO) writes code daily, Darius (CPO) designs and builds product, Erik (CEO) runs customer relationships. There's no layer between you and the work that matters.
We're building a generational company in Cognitive Procurement. That means high standards, fast pace, and real ownership. You'll shape the technical foundation, the tooling, and the engineering culture as the team grows around you.
💰 Competitive salary with meaningful equity (VSOP). You're a founder-level hire and your compensation reflects that.
