As Lead AI Engineer, you’ll own the platform that makes Delvo’s agents capable, reliable, and increasingly autonomous.
How do we give an agent the right context to investigate a complex question? Let it write and execute code, use tools, and recover when something fails? Know whether a new model actually improves a workflow that takes twenty steps?
These are yours to solve. You’ll own the agent runtime, inference infrastructure, execution environments, and evaluations - working directly with the CTO and Product Engineers to turn advances in AI into capabilities customers use.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role with real influence over our architecture, product, and engineering culture.
Build the engine behind our agents. Own orchestration, context, memory, and programmatic tool calling. Enable agents to plan, execute, and recover across complex procurement workflows.
Give agents the tools to do real work. Build sandboxed code execution and permission-aware access to data and tools, so agents can run analyses, generate documents, and carry out tasks with clear user control.
Make agent quality measurable. Build evaluations for complete, multi-turn workflows: the decisions agents make, the tools they use, and the results they deliver. Turn customer cases and production failures into tests that guide what we ship.
Make powerful AI practical at scale. Own model integration and inference infrastructure, improving quality, latency, and cost through routing, context management, caching, and observability.
Multiply what the team can build. Create shared foundations that let Product Engineers ship ambitious AI features quickly. Stay close to their work and customer feedback to understand where the platform needs to go next.

You’ve personally shipped LLM-powered systems used by real customers and owned what happened after launch.
You have strong software engineering foundations, with depth in TypeScript and optionally Python and the ability to work effectively in both.
You’ve worked deeply with agent execution, tool use, and context management. You can reason about state, retries, permissions, and unpredictable model behaviour.
You can point to an evaluation or failure investigation that changed what you built. You know how to distinguish a convincing demo from a dependable system.
You bring experience with sandboxed execution, inference infrastructure, or similarly demanding production systems - and the curiosity to master unfamiliar areas.
You lead through sound decisions, working code, and helping other engineers succeed. You combine technical depth with urgency and product judgement.
We care about the scope of what you’ve built and the responsibility you’ve taken. Procurement experience isn’t required.
You’re excited by how much is still unsolved. You can take an ambiguous problem, form a clear hypothesis, and build your way to an answer.
You move quickly, take initiative, and stay with the work when it gets messy. One day you might redesign an execution pattern; the next, trace a failed customer workflow or help a teammate ship a new capability. You enjoy that range.
