Senior Full-Stack Product Engineer

On-site, EU

About Spine

Spine builds integrated security infrastructure for operators of critical infrastructure across Europe — energy grids, rail and logistics networks, data centers, manufacturing sites, and municipal utilities. Our sensor-fused, integrator-ready platform replaces legacy guard-contract security with verified, correlated incidents across a three-layer stack: Sensor (radar, RF, optical, acoustic fused at the edge), Site (an encrypted mesh network that stays autonomous without connectivity), and Portfolio (correlated alerts feeding a Security Operations Center). We're a small, field-oriented team based in Berlin, taking full-stack ownership from embedded firmware to on-site deployment. Our mission: Securing European Prosperity.

About the Role

Spine's core product is the operator-facing console that turns fused sensor data into a live operating picture for security teams protecting critical infrastructure. We're hiring a senior full-stack engineer to own this product end-to-end — from the backend services that ingest and correlate sensor feeds to the real-time web frontend operators watch during active incidents. You'll work with minimal design support, making product calls as you build, and be the person who takes a rough operator need and ships a production feature that holds up in the field on live infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build backend services and APIs (Rust, Python, or Node) that power the operator console

  • Build and maintain the React/TypeScript frontend used by operators to monitor and respond to live incidents

  • Implement real-time data delivery via WebSockets/event streams, including live maps and video feeds

  • Integrate against internal message buses, gRPC/ZMQ-style feeds, and SQL databases

  • Own features end-to-end: from requirements gathering through design, implementation, and deployment

  • Collaborate directly with field engineers and customers to understand operator workflows

  • Contribute to product decisions with minimal design support, exercising strong product judgment

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience: backend services/APIs (Rust, Python, or Node) plus modern web frontend (React/TypeScript)

  • Experience building real-time systems: WebSockets/event streams, live maps, video delivery

  • A track record of shipping production products end-to-end with minimal design support

  • Strong product judgment and the ability to make sound calls independently

  • Comfortable integrating against message buses, gRPC/ZMQ-style feeds, and SQL

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ops/monitoring/security consoles, or building report/evidence-export features

Compensation & Location

  • On-site, EU (Berlin)
